Located in the hub of London’s urban culture, the eighth annual Restaurant & Bar Design Awards ceremony was held at the Old Truman Brewery,Shoreditch, September 2016.
The theme for this Year’s Awards ceremony was ‘Street’, where STAC were invited to design a bar inspired from street art, music and dance in the 1970’s
In response to the ‘Street’ brief, STAC sought to analyse street culture of the mid to late 70’s on the Kings Road, London. What we found was the emergence of the Punk scene, a new take on fashion, the beginning of graffiti & an entire movement that was anti establishment. Our design seeks to merge fashion, design & punk culture into a contemporary bar that speaks of ‘Street Punk’.

The Awards ceremony was attended by more than 800 of the UK and world’s best designers, and their clients responsible for the design of the most innovative food and beverage spaces.
The Restaurant & Bar Design Awards now in its eighth year is a globally recognised competition dedicated to the design of food and beverage spaces.

Benchmark Fabrications worked with STAC Architecture to build the ‘#GoPUNKyourself’ bar which paid homage to 70’s London street punk.

This was the first time we had worked together and STAC cannot say enough good things about the build process, the seamless collaboration and more importantly about the quality of the finished product.

A big thank you to the team at Benchmark for realising a challenging design to tight deadlines all done whilst keeping an eye on the detail and most importantly realising the clients vision.
