Working closely with conservation officers we were able to bring this dilapidated and boarded up GradeII listed building back to life.
Inspired by Retail shop displays and the history associated with retail in this street we conceptually approached the project in a bid to make the end product feel as curated and eye catching as any other Retail window display.
STAC have breathed life into the building through the use warm yellows, exposed original brickwork walls as well as introducing terracotta blockwork and hot-rolled mild steel sheet cladding.
White painted exposed concrete ceilings play off the perforated steel, whilst warming against the reclaimed timber adjacent.
The terracotta block walls have been back-lit to play with the light as one moves through the space. These provide a backdrop for contemporary African art dotted throughout the space.
