East Dulwich Garden Room

Good architecture spreads by word of mouth – this small project was only a few doors away from several of our other completed projects in East Dulwich. It consisted of knocking down a ‘down at heel’ lean-to which leaked and was thermally very inefficient so the client wanted to kill two birds with one stone and provide a fresh contemporary feel to their kitchen while extending the space to form a conservatory that was large enough for dining and entertaining while providing access to their mature terrace garden.

Following an initial site visit and some quick thumbnail sketch options we settled on a design that would fit the clients tight budget, would be large enough to provide the entertaining space and would also allow plenty of natural light to still penetrate into the kitchen. New steelwork was incorporated to open up the space between the kitchen and entertaining area and full width glazing to the doors and rooflights within the vaulted roof all helped to keep the space feeling like a garden conservatory, a new kitchen and oak flooring throughout gives the impression of the space being larger than it really is.
