STAC have recently designed and with the help of our partners at Concrete Carrot, produced a repetitive shingle in both oak & concrete which were used to clad a bar front and walls.

The initial shapes were CNC sculpted from solid blocks of oak, after which they were wire brushed to raise the natural timber grain and then oiled.

These were then used to create silicone moulds from which 1000 concrete equivalents were produced, all of which embodied the same texture and identity to the original oak shingles.

They work well together to provide both the warmth of timber yet the industrial contemporary feel of concrete.  Having successfully developed these we are currently working on a new module to be released in October 2015.
